The Dance

Two little feet
With pink polished toes
Standing on black leather shoes.
Two little hands,
Smooth and gentle,
Wrapped in a calloused pair.
They twirl and they sway
On the tiles of the kitchen,
Laughing and singing as they go.
A princess and a king
At a ball in a castle
When he walked in the door from work.
A tutu and tights,
A tie and a briefcase,
A crown and a magic wand.
A daddy and daughter
Dancing with each other
In a memory that will never fade.
