Ode to Your Hearing Aid
You can’t hear
So they put an ocean in your ear
And I know it lets you listen
But it also makes me picture
White capping waters crashing in your skull.
Because static is similar to water.
Currents of noise flowing to your mind
Through a piece of metal
Coiled around your flesh
Carrying waves in and out
Of your sweet blonde curls.
