What Should Have Been Road-Kill
I’m sitting in the passenger seat
All of the sudden we hit a bump
We shake it off
It was just a bump in the road
From when they recently fixed it
All of the sudden I hear a hissing sound
Coming from the air vents
I see a tongue
As pink as cotton candy
Silly me I must be hallucinating
There is no such thing as a tongue sticking out of the air vents
But that pink tongue keeps sticking out
Until I hear a loud crash
Oh that must be some construction workers
I feel something on my feet
I look down
Oh my gosh there is a snake slithering around on my feet
Suddenly it stands up
I mean literally standing up
Its ugly face is looking at me
With its pink tongue out
It slithers up my legs
To my lap
It coils up on my lap
Then it lunges at me
That’s when I wake up
