Adult
last night I had tea with the man in the moon
and let him weave his ribbons in my hair
with fingers wrinkled like
old apricots
soft from years reflecting back
the sea.
He sighed and his breath cracked like
a plate, and then he told me
I am too old now
to pretend I am a grownup
just for the fun of it.
