Our Stories
When you look into my eyes you see pain.
But my face shows a smile.
You see my heart;
It's been broken and it aches.
Your mind tells your heart to never trust.
Not to feel.
But you do.
You dream of a happy place.
A place without judgment.
A place of safety and peace.
You long for someone to understand your story.
One that knows your pain.
That wall.
That wall you use to hide your feelings,
It becomes harder to bring down.
You try to avoid the hurt.
The hurt kills you inside.
They judge you.
They judge before they know.
They escapade on things you find sensitive.
You look for someway to cope.
We are young.
We make mistakes we regret.
You wonder.
You wonder why we do certain things.
This is why.
We need someone to understand.
We want to feel safe from pain and suffering.
All we want is our stories heard.
