New Light
I look around,
Look in the shadows.
A voice calls to my attention,
As holes of light appear.
I do not shy,
My curiosity gets the best of me.
The light shines on me,
Not burning.
Showing me my true form,
All of these years its been to dark to see.
No hesitation,
No fear.
As if nothing could be wrong,
Even with how scared I was.
This new light,
Different in fear and wonder.
The one who took my hand,
He did not hurt.
Odd to my surprise,
A kind soul.
He sore to protect,
Keep me a joy.
Time has past,
Time still will.
He's still here,
As his promise is forever kept.
