Christopher
Christopher-
Living with pain and hurt
Not getting enough sleep at night
Drinking a lot of water
Losing weight
Feeling sick and sleepy all the time
Going to the doctor and getting tested for diabetes
Me coming to visit him in the hospital, watching him have his blood drawn
Watching him cry and in pain
Us going to the playroom
Watching him smile
Him wanting me to stay at the hospital overnight with him
Him coming home
Him asking us when diabetes would go away
Us telling him it wouldn’t
Him crying to us that it would
Us getting used to the new routine with less sugar
Always checking his blood sugar before each meal
Learning to give him his insolent shot
Me feeling bad to give it to him
Getting used to our new pattern of life
