Teenage Anthem
We are young,
We are hip and,
We don't give a s***.
We are brave
We are strong,
and we all have a song,
we are healthy
full of glee
better yet we are free.
Except for those times;
we remember our past and how easy it was,
and we grow tired of life and its confusing buzz,
we feel uncool and not so hip,
we're drowning in a pool when we just planned for a dip,
those times we'd do anything to not give a s***,
and we find ourselves collapsing in a fit.
when we feel alone and anything but brave,
when we look around and don't know how to behave,
we beg ourselves to at least appear strong,
when our best friends ditch us for bongs,
and yes we seem healthy, but only from the outside
because the demons inside are fighting to be free,
yes all of "these times"
they bring us down,
like proud kings who have just lost their crowns,
but shhhh, hush now
and wipe your tears,
One day we'll all conquer our fears
