In Their Eyes
i could see it in her eyes,
the flash of determination,
the spark of hurt at a memory,
the color of broken
mixing with healed,
leaving her eyes
a storm of living,
colored scarred.
i could see it in his eyes,
the deliberate shifting from
the scar colored eyes
because the pain
and the anger
kept there
are for him.
i could see it in their eyes,
the truth behind blues
about secrets and promises,
spilled and broken.
the truth about two kids
from a small town
who were a beautiful infinite,
but they lost it,
and now,
they're just
two kids from a small town,
with blue eyes and invisible scars.
