Another push, another shove, another lash upon my back
Another icy word stings my face like frozen sleet
Another shouting match burns like hot coals on bare feet

Another sob, another gasp, another struggle to stand
Another time, you beat me down, then offer me your hand
Another convincing smile you flash to make me feel at home
Another time you shun me to remind me I'm alone
