The sky was so dark
That it couldn't be dark any longer.
Each time that sky comes back into my mind
The sky gets light
The stars get brighter
And the moon gets bigger.

The white blur was a ship
A ship I said with my mind
It sailed over the moon so gently,
So elegantly, so smoothly.

The last time I was on a ship
The sky wasn't dark
And maybe the ship wasn't in my mind.
As the sky got brighter I watched the ship
Closer and closer,
And at that moment I knew it was there.

With the wind swirling
Like a tsunami
Around my head
I lost myself.

As the ship sailed
Farther and farther
Into the stars
I thought of how we
Never wished on stars together.

I wrote this piece about my best friend who is schizophrenic he often sees things that aren't there. I wanted to write about this because since he was diagnosed I have become very interested in Schizophrenia. I hope to raise more awareness for the people who suffer from Schizophrenia.
