Anthem of the Lost
living dead, fog eyes, deaf ears,
walking for a thousand years.
nothing in the world to do,
finding doors we can’t go through.
winding stairs, no rail, no floor,
keep falling ‘til we hit the core.
death can never make us sweat,
flying blindly, no regret.
we can never find the way,
no black, no white, our lives are grey.
nothing special, not unique,
still, we cry, inside we’re freaks.
Jesus didn't die for us,
He’d banish us without a fuss.
no forgiveness, guilt’s our god,
beat the sad out with a rod.
the hands of God will cut our hair,
not how we want, but no one cares.
pour our bodies in a mold,
only do just what we’re told.
our feet will never tread God’s path,
we’ll never learn the holy math.
but in the end, we all just die,
so let’s all sleep, let life go by.
