Saviors
I thought pain was beautiful
I wished to be
a savior. But then
came the day that I
saw it in your eyes
The truth is
you were a tortured soul.
Scraped knees, those i
can heal, I kiss your
elbows, and am indulged
with your grace.
But then I realized
I was wrong, I was
not your savior
you were mine.
Because you can move
mountains at the flick of your wrist, whilst I push
with no effect.
Saved from what I never
knew, of my insidious
fairy tale dreams
you are the savior in my space
your eyes were a mirror of mine.
Pain is still beautiful
I now understand the
3a.m. calls
and how hard it is to say
stand tall
