The Beast
His sparkling gray eyes,
Turned cold and foreboding.
His brilliant shining smile,
Turned hostile and intimidating,
What happened to the boy I knew before?
Did I really even know him?
What was he hiding under his messy copper hair,
Beneath his friendly grin?
The face of an angel,
A monster underneath.
His laugh like church bells,
The beast inside.
But there is a beast in all of us,
Even you and me.
And even though I cry today,
Tomorrow his black soul will pay.
