Memories
Now all that’s left is
to ignore the pain.
That’s the only thing to do, to try to keep sane.
Let the tears roll down.
But, don’t show my struggle.
Forgetting comes harder when the memories of him linger,
When all I can do is remember the past.
I try to move on.
I’m stuck.
Your heart is taken.
The best thing for me is to be humble.
As the days go by
It will only get easier.
Keep the memories of his face within that shine in my eye.
Some will stay.
Most will fade.
Happiness or sadness is what life can make.
My choices are slim.
As my brain decides,
Remember the memories of his smile to keep me smiling.
So it will be.
Memories deciding my fate.
Keep room for new ones,
On an empty slate.
Time will come.
A new beginning,
a new fulfillment.
