don't be fooled
colors and shapes will soon fade
to numbers & figures on a board
scientific procedures that swallow
the essence of what we can't afford
beauty can be found in the unknown
the sheer mystery of tomorrow
but when we plan out the future
we leave expectations to follow
folly becomes the vanity
in our upside-down world
while metaphors are left to die
alongside all our empty morals

beauty without a mind,
if one is to be appreciated
