As I lay back, I clearly remember that brown bag
My white paper burns, as I take long drags
It reminds me of the romances that ended bad
But I get nostalgic for the loves I never had
The thought of pale skin, and dim lights over head
And yellow bed sheets all crumpled on the bed
We left not only innocence, but things unsaid
I think we knew better, but all things have to end
But now these memories are painted strictly with regret
So I think of possibilities, and stories that are not set
We once believed friendship was endemic
But as we advanced we started to panic
What was the point and what are we here for?
Should not have pushed to try and be more
We shared a smoke on those dark fair grounds
Neon lights help us search for that unfound
Once companionship came so easily
Now parting ways was easier for me
