Significance
What does it matter
If one person
Stops breathing?
Nothing.
The world still turns.
The sun still rises.
People still hurry off to work,
Trying to ignore the small group of people
Huddles around a single grave site.
However
For those people huddling
The world has ended.
There's longer a point
For existence.
The death of one person
Has so little impact
In the grande scheme,
But matters so much
To one person.
However insignificant someone may seem
No matter how little impact they have on the world,
Someone
Somewhere
Is completely torn apart
When they're gone.
The world may not stop to commemorate
Someone's life and death
But the truth
Is they were once someone else's entire world
And now that they're gone
Existence
Seems
Meaningless.
