Dear Dad
I just need you to be honest with me,
Tell me everything that you hid from me,
Cause’ you never truly spoke to me--
Come on father, I know you’re there…
Open up, tell me you care,
Let me feel that guilt that you never share,
Tell the family of your despair,
I’m in deep need of your weeping,
I can feel your heart beat,
It’s scared,
You’re scared; see, you’re turning red,
Just open up, quit tearing your hair,
I know you’ve been meaning to share.
I feel you breathing, louder than a bear,
You’re lost somewhere,
But you won’t even dare,
Fight your fears pops; it’s time to obligate,
Cause’ I know you’re still there,
Somewhere.
At least for one more stare dad,
He’ll offer you that,
It’s worth the chance pops, go for the spare.
Spit out the words you never shared.
Go on dad, it’s getting late,
The clock ticks and it’s too late to waste.
God will no longer wait…
At least tell me you love me,
Cause’ I’ve never heard you say it.
I promise you, we will forever be fair,
And, my heart will stop aching,
Then we could finally pair,
Cause’ to be honest,
My heart needs a repair,
But, you’re the only one to repair,
The damage inside this heart that I wear,
Otherwise beware that at the very end,
I’ll be just another boy,
Whose father was always there,
But never truly aware…
At least for one more stare dad,
He’ll offer you that,
It’s worth the chance pops, go for the spare.
Spit out the words you never shared.
Go on dad, it’s getting late,
The clock ticks and it’s too late to waste.
God will no longer wait…
