A Royal Gift

In the eighteenth century,
an elephant was slaughtered.
Its tusks used for a carving.
A man slaved for such beauty,
an elephant it became.
Its ivory is so smooth,
fine enough for the raja.
They placed it with many jewels,
all four-hundred twenty-eight.
This ivory elephant,
became a gift for their king,
to show their great devotion.
