Watching as it flutters away
its intricate colors gradually fade.
A quick capture to make it stay,
only one of three, it’s betrayed.

Taken from its native place,
and put on display
to be purchased in a case.
It lost life today.

These beautiful creatures must be saved
before none have survived.
Their journeys must be paved,
so their numbers will be revived.
