Shadows in the Darkness

Lights flicker.
Yellow eyes stare.
Jet black silhouette scrambling in the dark.
The monster in the basement
dashes back and forth stalking its prey, Me.
Throughout the room it gnashes its teeth like a hungry alligator.
Wait, could it be…?
It can’t be!
The lights stop flickering.
Revealing the shadowy figure
of the feral basement cat.
