Not Weighing Stones
Your words cut.
Your lies hurt.
And your truths settle,
Like stones in my stomach.
Weighing me down,
Adding to the ever growing frown.
As I muddle through,
Trying not to slip into the blue;
Not to get lost in the dark woods,
Of my mind.
Your opinions do not make me,
Do not change me,
And do not trap me.
I am myself,
And that is who I remain.
Even when your words cut,
your lies hurt,
and your truths settle;
Like stones in my stomach.
I do not change.
I am not made.
And I am not trapped.
I am myself.
No longer weighing stones.
