This Child
Trapped, is the little child
all scared and alone,
a hateful family, a place not called home.
This Child has nothing to look forward to or enjoy,
not even story times, games, and toys.
Each and everyday This Child wonders, 'What have I done wrong?',
these days seem dreadful, and so long,
nobody else even knows what is going on.
This Child comes home from school each day,
just to be beaten, and to hide away.
In the closet, This Child hides and prays,
"Dear God,what have I ever done to be treated this way?
save me Lord, make it all disappear,
mommy and daddy are my biggest fear,
stay with me Lord, nice and near".
This Child hears the footsteps, growing close and loud,
then This Child hears angels singing from a cloud.
Down they fly
This child will no longer cry.
no more fears, no more pain
no more bruises will remain.
This Child flies way high above,
up to the heavens, like a peaceful, lovely dove,
to a place full of love.
This Child will always be protected,
they will never be rejected.
This Child will always be safe and sound,
for God has brought them to a higher, loving ground.
