Fear devours the heart
leaving a black pit of sorrow
and vulnerable hole
for the world to find.

Leaving a black pit of sorrow
like an open wound
for the world to find
gives more reason to hide.

Like an open wound
fear infects the soul,
gives more reason to hide
from the source of the pain.

Fear infects the soul
and leaves no room for healing
from the source of the pain.
It will haunt you forever.

And leaves no room for healing
of this stifling dread.
It will haunt you forever,
that image inside your head.

Of this stifling dread
that he’ll hurt you again.
That image inside your head,
your hand throbbing and him shouting.

That he’ll hurt you again;
you know it’s never intentional,
those frustrated words directed at you,
your hand throbbing and him shouting.

You know it’s never intentional.
You have to remember that
those frustrated words directed at you
aren’t really what he thinks about you.

You have to remember that
he’s your friend, a twin brother.
It’s never intentional.
He doesn’t want to hurt you.

He’s your friend, a twin brother.
He doesn’t want to hurt you.
Over time, you’ll learn to trust him again.
You won’t flinch at his actions.

Over time, you’ll learn to trust him again.
You’ll conquer this fear.
You won’t flinch at his actions.
Fear won’t devour your heart.
