The Gift of Life
Why do I live
simply to pass?
Why do I rejoice
To one day fall silent?
Maybe I'm immortal
But the individual is not.
I swallow my life
to pass it on
I join humanity's bulb
to carry on the tradition
of vitality, of love
So our world, however small
thunders with our cries
yet our cheers
our rage
yet our ecstasy
our death
yet our rebirth.
