Dark Presents
December 25.
Christmas Day.
The rejoice of Jesus’ birth.
Presents being opened after the family gathered round,
Shrills of excitement, smiles that spanned across the room,
Hugs delivered to those that gave filled with love.
One final present,
From the grandparents,
Delivered to the whole family.
Tears filled their eyes as their dependents stared,
Stating a truth that was inconceivable at the time,
Ending words that crushed even the most innocent of souls.
Spreading too quickly.
Limited time.
The end.
A choice to be made: accept reality or run from the shadows,
A character that always goes for the most compassionate option,
A difficulty that is beyond fathomable for any human being.
