The Little Things In Life
Seeing the twinkling lights
Of the skyscrapers
Reaching up to the stars,
And the red lights
Directing your eyes
Towards the moon
Makes you feel
As if you could touch the world.
Standing on a wooden bridge
Questioning why the moon is trapped
Beneath the ripples of the water
While a cool breeze kisses your skin
Sending shivers down your spine
As you try to free the moon
Makes you feel
As if you could free the world.
Speeding through the trees
Hearing the engine roar around you
Climbing out the open rood top
Flying free.
Free as a captured bird
Aching for the wind beneath its wings
Makes you feel
As if you could embrace the world.
Looking out the window
You see the moon
Freed back into the sky
Then you close your eyes real tight
To wish upon a star
With all the hope you have inside.
And this makes you feel,
As if the world isn't so bad after all.
