Only in My Dreams
Dreams
I have felt your hands, like whispers in my dream,
Gently, oh so gently, pulling me to your chest.
You whisper soft words of love into my empty ear.
You say, “Peace my love, be still my love”.
I feel your arms tighten, and I know you’ll not leave me alone.
But you do. You do when I open my eyes into the moring light.
The tears that fall from my eyes leave puddles on my sheets, the only evidence of my pain.
