Cold eel
Curling in stomach
Slithering up throat
Chocking back truth that wants to escape
Through lips gone numb with
Lies.

Chilling blades
Scratching at eyes
Calling in the tides
To bring forth their salty spray
But don't let them come,
Don't invite the
Weakness.

Red-hot coals
Smoldering in heart
And the malicious wind
Fanning the flames,
Allowing resentment to rage
Unchecked.
