Our Generation
Our generation is many things.
Our generation is the perfect Facebook profile picture,
The most humorous tweet, the 2,000 MySpace friends.
Our generation is a song of worship.
Our generation is living in yesterday’s prophecies,
Crying and screaming out that there is a God.
Our generation is the single spotlight.
Our generation is talent lurking behind every corner,
For there’s more to talent than singing and dancing;
Our generation knows that.
Our generation is destructive.
Our generation is child abduction, raped women, and fires set ablaze.
This world is anything but a perfect one.
Our generation is a kiss on a scraped knee.
Our generation is a mission trip to Haiti, a day spent in a soup kitchen, money given to the poor, kind hearts that light up the ignorant skies of Earth.
Our generation is many things.
All we are is living in the presence of tomorrow.
