All For You
The moon is a gem in the sky,
Playing hide-and-seek,
The stars scowled,
Comparing feebly to its beauty…
Charming characters bloomed in delight,
Smiling as the sun blesses them,
Opening their hearts at day,
Closing them at night,
As they vex you with their chromatology…
In my mouth,
I fold my paper-thin words up,
like origami,
Grinning when they take flight …
I know it isn’t my fault, but
I’m sorry that you’re sad.
I’m sorry that they hit you
(with words, fists, open palms).
I’m sorry that you feel unworthy.
I’m sorry that you spend some nights lying awake,
staring at the ceiling.
But now I’ve worked on it,
Just for you,
For the better community,
For all of us to link hands,
As smiles slashed across our faces…
Whirling with the wind.
Opening our hearts with delight,
For the sun to shine,
To dazzle us with its optimism,
as we joined like pieces of a lost puzzle,
I did this,
All for you…
