Genuine Bliss
A sheer winter frost cloaked the wide-open evergreens,
Frost squeezed the tip of my vivid brown nose,
The essence of cool, calm reality sunk into my body as I approached the hospital,
My heart thumped with anticipation,
I calmly strolled into a washed room,
A robe of ashen walls contrasted with the quilt posted on the barrier,
Yet my eyes focused on something else,
A warm comforting pleasure,
A vision that sank deep into my soul,
Nesting itself in part of my heart I had never felt before,
It was the spirit of pure delight,
She was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen,
Ages went on and on about how lovely she was,
I wanted to contribute to the conversation but my words just melted in my mouth,
The sight of the lovely girl just swallowed me whole,
As I looked at her I observed a small twinkle in her eyes,
One that brought me hope,
And joy,
And genuine bliss.
And to this day, everytime I look at her,
I am bequeathed with the same genuine bliss.
