Unrequited Love
"One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for ALL."
I bleed America.
I breathe America.
Did you hear me, Uncle Sam?
I said,
"I bleed, America.
I breathe America."
America scorns me-- an unrequited love since childhood.
Hot dogs and popcorn,
baseball games and bullhorns,
speeches of passion and melting pots,
fireworks, ball pits and mascots.
I know America.
I know, America, you know me not.
I'm an alien, different, unaccepted, overflow, ,destroying status quo.
I let my right hand on my beating chest fall.
I bleed America
all over your red, white, and blue
all over your so-called "FREEDOM."
