Thursday Through Tuesday
When you awake on a late Wednesday afternoon,
the first thing you notice is instrumentality,
how humans serve as tools to heal the wounds.
Of this struggle in civilized society.
The next day, your mind set is on tomorrow’s misfortune.
After your average nine to five shift, you hear a faint whisper.
You hear a young troll calling your name.
You don’t know what kind of troll, but it certainly made your day.
And this troll was a gentleman.
Like your favorite melancholy, you gaze upon life inside the box.
Your boss finally speculates your potential, and gives you oodles of promotions.
You come to your senses, holding a trumpet on a gurney,
When you awake on a late Wednesday afternoon.
