Ode to the Rain
The puddle
leaps
in joy
as I parade through
My boots
crinkle in happiness
as the water engulfs them
The rain splatters cars' roofs
and I whip off my hood
basking in the rain
People stop
and look at me
with judgmental stares
and icy eyes
I do not care
for I am in my paradise
I laugh
and splash about
taking in the world:
the cars honking,
the highway rumbling,
people running to get out of the rain
It is all so perfect
so real
that if I close my eyes
I feel like I'll miss something
