Pen to Paper
Every time I put pen to paper
Sit down with some lemonade
Turn up some Adele or Jason Mraz
I begin to tell my stories
I let blood flow from my heart
Through my hand, into the pen
The red liquid spills out onto paper
With fluidity of motion and fragile dexterity
Sometimes I let my heart paint pictures
Murals of grandeur and passion
And sometimes I let it scribble mindlessly
As I blotch the paper with raw emotions
My words so vulnerable
My heart so weak
Such a delicate piece of paper
I’m my heart’s ink. . .
