She had a beginning
-One that had developed too early-
And unable, at the time,
To comprehend its entirety.

Soon, thereafter,
a new chapter in her life began.
-A shorter one if I may say-
An intriguing character she was,
and curious by nature!
Not like any other.
-This could be seen from any perspective-

She grew up too quickly
-Not by choice of course-

Something, or someone
Must have opened her up
With their own two hands.
Turning the pages
of her life so quickly,
that she lost touch.

Quietly,
her presence
began to diminish.
-I always knew she wasn’t with us-
I would see her
pace the room
as if she knew.
She was only words.

I watched her slowly die.

Often,
In much effort, I would try to read her.
Desperately looking into those eyes
-a melancholic figure-
But never could I comprehend
her detachment.
She was reading
The pages of before,
Swallowing them reluctantly.
I always wondered,
but I never knew.

We all watched her fall
strait into her own depth.
and
slowly deteriorate.
-like an old book-
loosing piece by piece
of her
existence.

Gradually,
But suddenly,
She faded away
And we lost her.

Her death
was quiet.
Like a well read novel set down,
Thought about for a moment
Or two,
But then forgotten
As one would
Carry on the duties
Of their day.
