One World
A world torn by war and destruction.
Fear runs through the hearts of the innocent,
while green runs through the hearts of the greedy.
A world led by an endless struggle for existence.
Countries revolting, radical dictators falling, new governments failing
and all along technology moves forward.
Our TVs get clearer as our minds become more clouded; we no longer freely exist.
Our minds have fallen into mainstream media, living by what we are told.
Examples set by the few and orders carried out by the many.
Crowds shot down by water from the hoses of big business,
one man will stand alone against an army, but we still can not?
Our world is lost between the lines.
Year twenty something and we can't feed the starving?
No jobs for the poor and no comfort for the children,
families ripped apart by war. Lost in separate worlds;
just trying to find a reason for this constant disconsolate struggle.
But around every bend a light shines; we see the good if only for moments,
an aspiration that pushes for a new tomorrow.
For all the dismay and all the irrevocable decisions made,
all it takes are those moments, precious moments, and we find ourselves.
With this moment of clarity perhaps the wars will end,
mass media will no longer dictate us, poverty will become a forgotten word.
Children will always have families and a home.
Radical leaders will only exist but in the history books...
And you and I can tell stories of the one man, that one moment
that changed it all.
The sudden realization of a greater day on the horizon.
On this day we will all stand together, no longer as people
but as an infinite body that flows like the waves in the ocean.
For whatever shore we may land upon, we are all the same...
We are all the same.
