Hollow
Faded and jaded
we come to this place
hated, degraded
wipe blood from our face
save to clear the fire
from the haze of desire
Broken, unspoken
we bury the truth
no token, for choking
a madness to rue
but pass the time
convinced we're sublime
living a hollow existence
keep inside our darkest fantasies
imagined resistance
don't want the world to see
the shadow and light
the failure of flight
holding, scolding lies
haunting our very reflection
trapped in silent lullabies
that demand a taste of affection
bleeding, conceiving the need
to grasp every truth in exchange for greed
