Midsummer's Night
It stings
Like venom lacing your veins
In a cold, burning sear of heat
It's like a snake
Slithering around your mind
Until provoked
It strikes out
All pain, hate and rage
Coursing through your blood stream
Like poison embedded in the red skin
Of an apple
You're tainted
Dark satisfaction seeps into your mind
As the blood drips like rain
From your tattooed wrist
Crying out but not heard
The world around you black with
Chaos
Of your thoughts,
your feelings,
your need for vengeance
Like the lightning of a thunderstorm
on a midsummer's night.
