Nicholas
It started with the morning sun
Warm waters
Selfish pain
Dead endings and an empty glass
We sailed through noon
Through waves
To beaches
Through fog and mist alike
We continued at sunset as the world ended
Only us as we kept on going
But midnight came
And so did ice
The crashing waves were cold
They spun us in circles
Circles, circles, circles
On and on and on.
We couldn’t stop
Then I realized that you are the moon
and I didn’t care,
I just kept crashing
Our love is a poison
You are my antidote
Our love is a poison
I am your accelerant
Dying is worth the pain every time
Your antidote is perfect
You are a part of me
The part that I didn’t wish I needed
Books talk of how love strikes the heart
It’s not until you lose the one you love most
That you realize that love is an arrow soaked in poison
Sometimes that poison fades and pain is all that’s left.
