saturday night
as I stood at the edge of
the cliff,
thoughts whirring around my brain, my
voice too loud to hear much else, I
wondered it it was all worth it, wondered
if i was (worth it) and if
the clouds might some day part and I
would see the sun shining again
and I would be free of the anguish and the disappointment
I thought that freedom lay in the jump
that one step could change it all, but
it was decided for me
that I could not take this fall
