Waters of Life

One could compare life to water,
Or more in fact a winding ocean,
Some drowning others barely floating,
In this ocean we call life.

Like the Titanic,
Will you crash and burn?
If the ship doesn’t take you down to the depths,
Then your fellow man will devour you like sharks,

Or perhaps you will float along endlessly,
Like a sailor on a wayward course,
You will float along forever,
Until you find your purpose.

Just remember the waters of life can become stagnant,
Sometimes they will boil with the fury of others,
Other times they become polluted by your fellow man,
The ocean can be cruel and unforgiving.

Maybe we don’t have a purpose,
We could all just be floating until,
The day it all ends or we are drowned by our struggles,
We are just hopelessly treading endless water in our life.
