Falling
Have you ever been falling… With nothing to grab onto?
Crashing from a cliff, saying goodbye to the world that you knew.
Knowing that at some point you’re going to hit the ground,
Except for the ringing in your head you don’t hear a sound.
The approaching ground gives you a bitter feel,
And you close your eyes, hoping it’s not real.
With each passing second your heart rate climbs,
Like it’s on a ladder heading for the skies.
The world is still bright though you can see stars,
And it feels like the end is not very far.
You wait for it to come, your very last breath.
You know that it’s approaching: your inevitable death.
Yet even though your life seems at stake,
Just before the darkness takes over, you finally awake.
