"A certain darkness is needed to see the stars."

don't you see,
you are a bud,
and i am a
weed.
you will flourish,
be watered with attention,
and handled with care,
while people see me
as an
annoyance,
pulling at me
to leave.
you are known as
beauty,
but i,
my dear,
feel the complete
opposite.
you lift people's
spirits,
only for me
to pull them back
down.

All men who have achieved great things have been great dreamers.
Orison Swett Marden

"The role of a writer is not to say what we all can say, but what we are unable to say." - Anais Nin

we speak in hushed voices so as to not wake our memories

I love the idea of this poem :D
