Salt and Memories
As the salty tears cease to flow down my face,
I look to find something to fill this empty space.
I find nothing, but I find stains from my tears of sorrow,
Yet, I try to smile, I gather strength to face tomorrow.
Things are hard, but you gave me a hope you could never know.
Your influence on me, helped save my life, and for that, it's you that I owe.
Memories are something that can help stitch up a broken heart,
A heart broken when a family gets torn apart.
Someone ripped away, torn out like an old page,
These feelings confuse us, but don't mistake them for rage.
I'm not mad, I'm not even really sad, but I still grieve,
What else can I do? I disagree when people say, "it was his time to leave."
Day in and day out, I can still remember your voice,
I would go back, if only I had that one choice.
Time is but a cursed and tricky beast,
It takes some away, it leaves your loved ones deceased.
But there is nothing I can do, nor can you.
For death takes us all, find the beauty in what is true.
