My Name
My name
A cold whisper in the dark.
The beat of a dying heart.
My name lives
Lifeless,
Formless,
Shapeless,
The last drop of blood,
On the blade of Brutus,
And the tongue of Judas.
It is the word screamed before every battle.
It lies in the skin of every drum,
In the lead of every bullet.
It lingers in the ear,
Crawls across the bottom,
And digs into the brain.
It fills the mouth,
Catching the tongue,
Choking the throat.
It is a word.
Spoken,
Shouted,
Screamed,
Whispered.
It is my word.
