Again and Again
I couldn't tell you the first day I fell for you.
There's always been days where I've fallen for you.
All over again.
Again,
And again.
It could have been the one Wednesday night,
When I saw you singing on stage,
Or the times you sat and prayed longer than everyone else.
It could have been any of the days I've caught you looking at me,
While we were cuddled up in the cold television lit basement.
It could have been in my mother's car,
While you read your poem aloud to me,
Or what happened afterward.
It could have been that same night ,
Moments after all of that,
Lying next to you on my best friend's couch,
Hearing your heart race mine.
It could have even been on bonfire night.
Seeing your face glow from the flames,
Glancing towards me from time to time.
It could have been the night of Scaremare,
With your reassuring grip of your hands holding mine.
But what if it was the first day?
The day I wasn't expecting to fall for you,
Or for you to ever fall for me.
