The Ebony-Haired Girl
Her long, ebony hair,
wet and dripping from the rain,
little droplets twinkle and sparkle,
like the stars in the night sky.
As the rain falls,
it feels as though the heavens are crying.
Each droplet that falls,
caresses her in a cold, wet embrace.
Each drop kisses her face,
as though to say goodbye,
she turns her back and whispers,
“forgive me”
she lets herself fall.
Her ebony-hair covers her face,
as though to hid her from her fate.
The twinkling stars fall away,
When she hits the ground it feels as though time has stopped,
ebony mixes with crimson.
Her lifeless eyes stare up to the pale moon,
in thanks for granting her wish.
Someone screams,
many come around her,
whispers fly,
many hearts were heavy,
many had asked why,
as she did before she had decided to died.
As ebony-haired girl is laid to rest,
a warm gentle breeze blows,
and carries her away,
with a final farewell.
